Sky Mobile plan guide
Everything Sky publishes about Sky Mobile plans sold with your phone: the data plans, Swap and phone payment rules, add-ons, roaming, charges outside your plan, fees and how to change or leave. Sky's own terms and tariff guide are the binding version.
Figures were taken from the network's own pages in October 2026 and can change. If anything here differs from the network's current document, the network's document applies.
Data plans and phone payment
Every Sky Mobile data plan comes with unlimited calls and texts to UK numbers, a 12-month minimum term, and no SIM cost. You pay for the phone separately.
| Data plan | Normal price | Price on sky.com now |
|---|---|---|
| 100MB | £5 a month | £5 |
| 1GB | £8 a month | £8 |
| 3GB | £10 a month | £4 (offer) |
| 5GB | £12 a month | £12 |
| 10GB | £14 a month | £7 (offer) |
| 40GB | £18 a month | £8 (offer) |
| 50GB | £20 a month | £20 |
| 75GB | £23 a month | £23 |
| Unlimited | £30 a month | £18 (offer, "our lowest price ever") |
Offer prices are Sky's own and the data plan price may change during the 12-month minimum term. The tariff guide lists the Unlimited plan at £29 a month.
Paying for your phone
- Pay over 24 months (Swap12): interest-free CSA, with optional Swap after 12 months.
- Pay in full today.
- Your device price summary shows the upfront payment (£12 on the phone page) and the monthly payment. Credit is subject to status and a credit check, and you must be 18 or over.
- Sky runs credit, affordability, identity and fraud checks each time you buy on credit, with your consent. One credit search is made per order and it appears on your credit file. If you cannot afford the repayments the order is cancelled and any upfront payment is refunded within 14 days.
- You have 14 days after ordering to sign your CSA. The device is not reserved or sent until it is signed, and the order is cancelled if you do not sign in 14 days.
- Cooling-off: tell Sky within 14 days of your device arriving that you have changed your mind and return it in its original condition within 14 days for a full refund. To keep the device you must pay the balance in full inside the same period.
- You can pay your CSA off early at any time; extra payments go towards your last instalments first.
- If you cancel your SIM plan your CSA payments continue until it is paid off.
Add-ons and protection
Add-ons are managed in My Sky or the My Sky app.
| Add-on | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|
| International Saver | Discounted calls (5p a minute) and texts (10p, 6p from the UK to Europe) to over 60 destinations, from the UK and Roaming Passport Plus destinations | £4 a month |
| 1GB Add On | One-off 1GB of data; up to 5 per SIM each month | £6 one-off |
| 5G Add On | Access to your existing data allowance on the 5G network; needs a 5G phone and coverage; 30-day rolling | Free |
| Unlimited Calls and Texts | Calls and texts to UK landlines and mobiles; included with every data plan for new customers | Included |
| Pay As You Use | Default if you choose no calls and texts plan: 10p a minute, 30p a text | No monthly cost |
Sky Protect Mobile Insurance
| Cover | Price | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Accidental damage | £12 a month | Unlimited repairs and replacements for accidental damage; replacement delivered next day for claims approved before 3pm; flexible rolling contract |
| Accidental damage with loss and theft | £19 a month | As above plus loss and theft cover with up to 2 claims a year |
Provided by Domestic & General. The phone must be no more than 3 years old and there is a £75 excess on a claim. Cover is worldwide.
Sky Piggybank
- Any unused data at the end of a month on any plan except Unlimited rolls into your Piggybank automatically, and you can use it to top up a SIM or swap it for rewards, or for money off a new phone.
- You need at least 1GB saved and data is used in whole GB. You will not see rolled data until after your first bill period.
- Unused data lasts 12 months, then drops off. You can share it with up to seven other SIMs on your account but not between accounts.
- Unlimited plans cannot roll data into the Piggybank, and Piggybank data cannot be added to an Unlimited SIM.
Mix: change your data plan every month
- Moving to a bigger plan gives you the new allowance straight away; a smaller plan starts from your next bill date.
- Plans change from time to time, so you may not be able to move back to a plan you used to have, and you can lose offers by switching.
- The free 100MB plan cannot be returned to once you change.
- Your next bill after moving up can be higher because you pay in advance.
Roaming
Roaming Passport Plus lets you use your UK plan in over 120 destinations for £2 a day.
| Item | Roaming Passport Plus |
|---|---|
| Price | £2 for each 24 hours you use it; free for Sky VIP Diamond customers with Free Global Roaming |
| Starts when you | Make a call, send a text, or use more than 10MB of data in a day in a destination |
| Data | As per your UK plan; usage over 25GB in a billing period is charged at £2.50 per GB (pro rata) |
| Calls and texts to UK numbers | As per your UK plan |
| Receiving calls and texts | Inclusive; receiving does not start a pass |
| Calls to EU/EEA destinations | 55p a minute (Republic of Ireland 50p); texts 10p |
| Picture messages | As per UK plan, to UK mobiles only |
| Data roaming spend cap | £45 a month per SIM, on by default; can be turned off at sky.com/settings |
The 24-hour pass uses UK time and resets after 24 hours. In the EU/EEA including Switzerland one pass covers several countries in the same 24 hours. Roaming in Cyprus triggers an EU/EEA pass; Northern Cyprus triggers a Turkey pass. The Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man are at no extra cost. Roaming is blocked in Zimbabwe and the Central African Republic.

Fees, bills and spend caps
What happens if you cannot pay, want a cap on your spend or need to leave.
- Spend cap: set a monthly cap of £0 to £100 per SIM for charges outside your plan. Alerts come at 80% and 100% (50% is optional). At the cap you can no longer use chargeable data, calls or texts until your next bill date, but your plan allowances keep working.
- Data roaming spend cap: £45 a month per SIM, on by default.
- Payment holiday: Sky can pause CSA repayments for 3 months with no new credit check. This changes your CSA end date. Mobile plan charges continue. You can only ask again in the next 12-month period.
- Loan term extension: Sky can lower your monthly device payments by extending your loan by 12 months, with no new credit check.
- If you cancel your Direct Debit you will miss a payment, which can affect your service and your credit file.
- Leaving: you can cancel Sky Mobile or move your number to another provider at any time. Early termination charges may apply during the minimum term. Your CSA payments carry on until paid.
- Fair usage: see the Fair Usage Policy for the 550GB UK limit and the 25GB roaming limit.
- Account limits: up to five active devices and seven data plans per account.
Swap, trade-in and upgrades
Sky lets you upgrade your phone without paying fees once your Swap window opens.
| Contract | Length | Swap window opens |
|---|---|---|
| Swap12 | 24 months | After 12 months |
You can Swap up to six years after your purchase date. Swapping earlier is possible, but if your old phone's value does not cover the CSA you pay the rest, added to your next bill or paid at once.
- Swap: send your old Sky phone back within 14 days of the new one arriving. Sky values it and uses the amount to pay off your CSA, or credits future bills if it is already paid. The condition you describe is checked, and a lower value can be offered. The loan must be paid to Swap.
- Damage reductions apply: for example 15% of value for missing or broken covers or buttons, casing cracks or water damage (fully working), 50% for screen damage or faults.
- Trade-in: trade in a phone from any provider for account credit when you buy with Sky. Sky Piggybank data can also be cashed in for money off a new phone.
- Upgrade and keep your old phone: your old CSA payments continue next to the new one.
Fair usage in short
- UK data: up to 550GB per billing period per SIM is treated as reasonable. Above that on an Unlimited plan, if it happens in three billing cycles in a rolling 12 months, Sky may cancel the SIM plan.
- Roaming data: up to 25GB per billing period per SIM under Roaming Passport Plus. Over that, extra data is charged per GB.
- Sky may suspend or restrict your service for up to 12 months if you breach the Acceptable Use Policy, and may charge a fee to reinstate it.
